Misery loves the company of failure

misery, sadness, failure

Each day we are forced to make decisions. Decisions that create a fork in the road. Often times we wonder how one decision would have trumped over another decision and the fate that it would have created. I am not talking about those golden decisions you made, where you were lauded by friends and good company, but the times when you could have “NOT” poked that needle on your forearm, Or the time that you could have said “NO” to the glass of wine that was offered to you. (that set of a chain reaction.)

People say that somethings are meant to be. But what if we could have had the ability to change those things? What if we had a time machine that allowed us to go back and do things differently.

The Marvel Agents of shield Fans would remember a novel way of explaining (this) space time using the paper model. For those that have not been initiated into the Marvel cinematic universe, here is the short gist of it. We can’t change the future because it is already set. Imagine if  you were living in 2 dimensional space, like that of a piece of paper. Now if we had a stack of papers and if we drew a vertical line along the stack ,height wise; Since you are contained in the 2 dimensional space, no matter what you do the outcome will not impact how the line was drawn, because we don’t have access to that dimension (i.e. the height dimension). This explanation is mostly untrue for reasons cited in this Reddit article

But on some levels it is true, A child cannot learn how to walk unless he falls down repeatedly. So Failure is not such a bad thing by itself. Its how you deal with it that matters.Failure can be the stepping stone to success. So, instead of worrying about how you could have done things differently; how you could have rearranged your life, let it be your teacher, Its a temporary delay to the full potential that awaits you.

Misery loves the company of failure. Don’t let it define you. You only fail when you stop trying.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way.
– Proverbs 3:5-6
