A hummingbird

Flapping his wings

Songs of beautiful tales he sings

In my garden, a frequent visitor

In pursuit of sweet nectar

Hastily he comes and goes

Against the flowers rubbing his nose

Trying to savour the delicacy

Humming along in ecstasy

Fluttering around having no cares

Away from the jungle’s snares

A daily sip of nectar made him blissful

The hummingbird’s days were eventful

An absence of nectar made him doleful

Upon each visit, he collected a bowlful

He wouldn’t miss the flavors

Rain or shine, he visited the flowers!
