A melting candle

My heart burns like a candle

Its love doesn’t dwindle

Tears pour down, like melting wax

In times of despair, it seeps through the cracks

My wretched heart, in distress

Struggles to suppress

The emotional pain

Due to fear of disdain

I am a prisoner to myself

Hiding my aches in a secret shelf

I open up, when I can bear no more

After many days of downpour

Only one could understand

It’s hisaffection, I demand

Like a dessert, I needed him each day

I cried like a noisy blue jay

Hold me close, I pray

Lest I fade away

And cause him dismay
