Tears coagulated when you acted distant
My love, persistent
Unashamedly appealed
To restore the covenant
Anger, belligerent
Disdainfully repealed
I want to be triumphant
To myself, I became kind
But, my mind wouldn’t unwind
Uncomforted tears
Mocking jeers
Developed fortitude
I put on a new attitude
The warmth of dear friends caresses
Like a gentle stroke to my tresses
The sweetness of their presence tarries
Through the day, it carries
No more, being snappy
I resolve to stay happy
