Hyacinth

Hyacinth is a perennial plant which blooms in the spring. Though it’s very beautiful and fragrant, it only flowers once a year.

A fog enshrouds

I gaze into the blackest clouds

Heavy rains cause a debilitating gloom

I wait impatiently for a bloom

Suddenly I am caught in a labyrinth

My eyes chance upon a hyacinth

I long to hasten to it’s fragrance

But alas, I am reminded of it’s transcience

When it wilts, it causes dismay

So I look away

I search through the maze

Cold winds blow into my face

I look for a blanket to keep me warm

My angels protect me from harm

Finally, I see the sun rise

And gloom leaves my eyes
